Amputation recovery support for my father.

My father, Michael Mcleod, is a selfless man, a loving father and an amazing grandfather. He's spent his life ensuring the happiness and security of his children, and later his grandchildren. Always spending more time and money then he could afford, just to see us smile. But with one health challenge after another, he's had a rough few years. He overcame a type 2 diabetes diagnosis in 2008 and bypass heart surgery in 2009. In 2010 he was diagnosed with COPD, and his kidney's began to fail, requiring daily dialysis. A few months ago he started complaining about numbness in his toes and fingertips, and soon the pain was so severe he couldn't walk. He received bypass surgery for the artery in his right leg, and within a week had the same procedure done to his left leg. This provided little relief from the pain, and he was still unable to walk. Dad, put on a strong face so his family didn't worry, but I could tell he was getting depressed. Due to lack of circulation, the toes on both his feet started to die and his fingers are starting to show the same symptoms. This month his right foot became infected and his right leg was amputated below the knee. Throughout it all, he hasn't let it show, but in his room at the QE2, the night before the surgery, I could tell he was afraid. The amputation was successful, but he's still in alot of pain. Now, a man who's spent his life giving, is faced with a financial situation we can't afford. The circulation medication to keep his hands from going the same way as his feet, will cost $600.00 a month. The continuing care he needs will cost a minimum of $500.00 a month. We are hoping to raise enough to cover his medical costs for 2 years. Please help us give back to my father, a selfless man who after a lifetime of helping others, needs some help himself.
