Amplifying Black Student Voices: A Documentary
Donation protected
The money requested will be used to produce a short documentary on students’ reactions and perceptions of our Board of Trustees' recent decisions not to change the names of two buildings on campus. In response to the decision, students formed the Black Student Coalition along with the Protect Our Web Statement on Black Student Welfare. They have drafted a list of demands and a petition to address the lack of acknowledgment that black students are forced to face on campus. This documentary is through Interpoint and will consist of interviews conducted with students on their reactions to the Board's recent decisions, and their personal experiences. It will then be distributed after it is produced to a broad range of key media outlets, with the aim of pushing the University administration and the Board to take action. Interviews will also be cataloged and archived to ensure that the efforts invested into this movement are not forgotten. With your help, we can ensure that students' voices are not only heard but documented and archived.
