Amparo’s Medical Care
Donation protected
Amparo was visiting family in Nicaragua. Randomly her head started to hurt and then collapsed. She was immediately taken to the hospital and had a seizure. After various exams, she was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage (internal brain bleeding). Her brain veins had popped. They had to do surgery right away since she was close to her death. Her husband and 2 daughters were in Miami. After the long wait for the surgery, the doctor spoke to us on the phone. He said that even though the surgery was successful, there would be consequences. There was a 50% chance that she may not make it. If she did make it, it could take weeks, months, or even years to be responsive. If she was able to live, potentially she would be paralyzed, blind, have no memories intact and have other worse-case scenarios that you can think of. She was in a coma. After a few hours after the surgery, she was able to breathe on her own without any artificial help. Not even 24 hours later, she opened her eyes, was able to speak, and move her arms and legs. She was transferred from intensive care to a general room. When we arrived (her husband and 2 daughters), she was able to recognize us. Her memories are still there. Less than 48 hours later, she was eating normally. Even though she was slowly recovering, Unfortunately, she needs another surgery to prevent any future problems. She has brain malformation and abnormal connection of arteries and veins forming a nest like formation that is weak and might rupture a stroke. Even though this surgery has the same health risks (being paralyzed, memory problems, etc), it will eliminate her chances of having another brain hemorrhage (internal brain bleeding). More than ever my mom needs support. The funds will be used to provide the best medical attention (the surgery, technology, every exam, medication, etc.) here in Nicaragua. God will continue to bless her. Continue to pray for her and have faith. Thank you for your donations❤️.
