Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion Senior High School in Cape Coast, Ghana, is home to more than 4,700 young people who work every day to build a better future. They study, they train, they dream, and they depend on the adults who guide them. But fewer than 35 teachers can live on campus. Most travel long distances each day, leaving before sunrise and returning late at night. The long commute drains their energy and steals the time they wish they could give to the students who look up to them.
The impact is felt everywhere. There are evenings when students gather for study sessions, and no teacher is close enough to help them through a difficult concept. There are nights when a child is struggling, and the adult who could steady them is still on the road home. Even preparation for the National Science and Math Quiz has been affected. Our students work hard, but they often train without the consistent, hands-on support that could sharpen their skills and lift their confidence. And this is only one example. Every student, in every corner of the campus, feels the absence of teachers who want to be present but cannot be.
The talent is there. The potential is there. What is missing is the daily presence of the adults who can bring out the best in them.
AMOSA North America is helping build an 18-bedroom apartment complex so teachers can finally live on campus, close to the students who depend on them. A simple, safe home will mean rested teachers, stronger academic support, and a campus where young people feel guided, protected, and seen. Your generosity will help create a place where teachers can stay close, stay present, and remain part of the daily lives of the students who rely on them. It will strengthen the community that surrounds our young people and give them the steady guidance they need each day.
We would like to invite you to join us in bringing this project to completion. Thank you for standing with us with your generous donation.
