Hello! My name is Sarah Colado, and I am an Art and Art History teacher at Atlantic Coast High School and one of our students needs your help! Amorita Nazario is an exceptional student here at ACHS, who also just happens to be Deaf. Amorita is an athlete and a scholar, who is currently on our wrestling team, our swim and dive team, and participates in Marathon High. Her family has worked very hard to provide her with an opportunity to travel to Italy and France this summer. Unfortunately, Duval County Public Schools are not currently authorized to provide students traveling outside of the country with a dedicated interpreter.

This campaign will provide Amorita with much-needed financial support to have an equitable experience when she travels abroad. The $4500 will go directly toward paying for the cost of her interpreter, Kiara Craner to travel with us in June of 2024. Any additional funds raised will offset any costs Kiara might accrue (checking luggage, food, missed work time). Kiara Craner is a certified EIPA ASL interpreter who has experience working in public education in a K-12 setting and works all over northeast Florida interpreting. Kiara is not being compensated to interpret for Amorita and is volunteering her services for the duration of our travel.
