My name is Basma Alquqa, and I am writing to you with a heavy and broken heart.
My family and I have lost everything. Me, my mother, my baby, and many of my relatives are still in Gaza, struggling every single day to survive. My husband and my young son are in Egypt, separated from us, and we are all living in painful displacement. I was pregnant when this nightmare began, and until now, my baby has never seen her father or her brother — and I have not been able to hold my son again. This separation is a pain no mother should ever have to endure.
Our home has been completely destroyed. Our jobs and all sources of income are gone. My family moves constantly from one temporary place to another, searching for safety, food, and clean water — the most basic human needs that have now become luxuries.
Right now, what we need most is safety — a secure place to protect my family, especially with the cold season coming. After that, we urgently need essentials: food, medicine, and clean drinking water. In Gaza, even unsafe water has become something people are desperate for.
I am asking for your help from the depths of my heart. Every single donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping my family find shelter, access food, and receive medical care. Your kindness could mean that a child sleeps warm tonight, or that a mother can finally find medicine for her loved ones.
Please, if you are reading this, take a moment to donate and share this campaign. Your compassion can give my family hope — a chance not just to survive, but to live again. Every dollar truly makes a difference.
I will continue to post updates every few days so you can see how your support is helping my family. I have received the donations that have been sent so far, and I am deeply grateful. If you wish, you can contact me at any time for reassurance and transparency.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, your generosity, and your humanity.
