Hi everyone, this is Bibartan Jha (Amit's son). First of all, I would like to thank everyone for your donations.

For those who aren't aware, my father Amit Jha passed away on February 16 due to heart issues and leukemia. He was only 54. We are missing him every day.

I have started this GoFundMe for 4 primary reasons:

1) To help my Mom during this time, since she had quit her job last year when my Dad first started getting sick. Hopefully, these funds will help her until she is ready to start working again

2) To pay for lawyer fees. Since my Dad's death was unexpected, he did not leave a will. As a result, my Mom needs to go through many long legal processes, and the lawyer costs are really expensive.

3) To set aside a fund for my younger brother Sayantan, who has autism

4) My Dad dreamed that after retirement, he will help needy students in his hometown Malda, West Bengal, India. Since he was not able to fulfill that dream, I would like to take it on for him. So, I will use some of these funds to start an educational nonprofit in my Dad's name. This nonprofit will aim to provide scholarships to students in my Dad's hometown. When we go to India this summer to spread my Dad's ashes in the Ganges River, I will also meet with some people there and get started with the nonprofit.
