A Mission for Moon

This is Moonpie aka Master Moonpie E.T. He is an almost 9 year old pug prince + son of my best friend, Shannon. Ever since he came into her life, she has dedicated every waking moment to him, his health, and most importantly, his happiness. He has always been her constant when life has gone awry and they are the best of friends.
Recently, he has had some neurological issues evidenced by limping and stumbling which means his spine could be dying. Moon's veterinarian decided that he either has Degenerative Myelopathy, or an inoperable tumor on his spine. Both will cause eventual paralysis and incontinence. He has undergone therapeutic treatments in the last month to possibly reverse his symptoms, but has been having setbacks recently. Shannon has paid for these treatments out of pocket, and now Moon needs an expensive MRI and further treatments for his impending diagnosis + aftercare. Shannon is currently studying to become a holistic health coach, and was intending on furthering her schooling for another year, but is sacrificing her tuition to pay for Moonpie's tests + needs to put all of her time/focus on Moonpie's needs right now. I have established this gofundme because one, I love Shannon and will do anything to help her, and two, because I believe that she has enough friends and family who are more than willing to help her and Moonpie in their state of need so she does not have to sacrifice her career study. Please share his story, pray for the best, and donate if you can. In our Mission for Moon we can help this sweet boy get the proper testing and treatment he needs, without anymore stress on his Mama.
In the words of John Groban of Marley and Me:
"A person can learn a lot from a dog, even a loopy one. He taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. He taught me to appreciate the simple things-a walk in the woods, a fresh snowfall, a nap in a shaft of winter sunlight. And as he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly, he taught me about friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty.”
