A Miracle for My Brother

My brother, my best friend, my protector since I was a little girl. I’ve spent days going back and forth trying to find the words to write this. A Glioblastoma is something I had never even heard of, yet alone something that would change our lives forever.
On July 23, 2020, my brother, Stefan, 43, suffered a major seizure at home. He was taken to the hospital, where after an MRI and two separate opinions, our worst nightmare became a reality. He was diagnosed with a Stage IV Glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain cancer.
Stefan, his loving wife of 13 years, Caitlin, and their two sweet girls, Brynn, 8 and Annika, 5, are now faced with the fight of their lives. While there is no cure for this cancer, Stefan is ready to fight to prolong his life as much as possible. On August 12th, he underwent a lengthy surgery where they were able to remove most of the tumor. He is now waiting to begin the next stage of treatment, radiation and chemotherapy, to slow down the regrowth of the tumor.
Stefan is of course unable to work due to his diagnosis, and loss of vision from the tumor. Caitlin has worked at a local children’s hospital foundation for 13 years and will continue to do so, while also supporting and bringing Stefan to treatments. We want to help them as much as possible so that while facing these difficult times of heartbreak and uncertainty, finances will not have to become a major added stress. Any donation, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated. The money raised will help with medical expenses, living expenses, and offer them an opportunity to have family experiences that are being taken away from them far too soon. Their dreams of living a normal life have been crushed. Our hope is that we can still help them make beautiful family memories to keep in their hearts forever.
Although the prognosis for this disease is not positive, we will remain positive that new treatments and options will become available as time goes on. We are faithful, hopeful, and believe there are infinite possibilities. God works wonders, and Miracles do happen! Right now we are all praying for that Miracle.❣️
