My name is Amira Salim, a woman over fifty years old, living in the Gaza Strip, where war never ends and destruction surrounds everything. I used to live in a humble home that sheltered me for years, but it was completely destroyed in one of the airstrikes—leaving me with nothing but memories.
Destruction was not my only hardship. I have suffered from life’s injustices and endured harsh domestic violence that left me alone with no support. As I’ve aged, I’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, a painful disease that makes every movement a challenge. I am no longer able to work, and I have no income or means to afford medication or even my daily food.
Today, I live in a tent with no real shelter, facing cold, hunger, illness, and the constant fear of bombings. Every day is a struggle to survive. And yet, I still believe in the kindness that exists in people's hearts.
I appeal to you from the depths of my heart to extend a helping hand. Your donation, no matter how small, could give me a chance to live with dignity—to afford my medicine, food, and maybe rebuild a small shelter where I can reclaim my humanity.
Every share, every donation, every word of support means life to me.
