Gone but Never Forgotten

 

For those unaware of this initiative, Amir Haffar was a beloved son, brother and friend who touched the hearts and enlightened the souls of anyone he met, let alone his friends and his family. Amir tragically passed away in Nigeria in the early morning of February 14th 2022.

 

In memory of Amir Haffar, we would like to celebrate his life by actively donating to the following 2 initiatives.

 

EDUCATION

Approximate fundraising needed: $25,000

• Brummana: $15,000

• Amal ou Salam: $6,000

• Tarkwa Bay: $4,000

 

A portion of the proceeds of this fund will go to students in Brummana High School who cannot meet their annual tuition requirements due to economic hardships. Depending on how much we raise, we plan on selecting 2-4 students. First, we fund their annual tuition until they graduate, unburdening the parents' worry about their children’s high school education. Secondly, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds to Amal ou Salam Foundation (a registered NGO in Canada), which has been operating for years as a school in Jordan, assisting refugees kids from the age of 5-7 years old. Lastly, non-traditional education, a favourite of Amir’s, a portion of the funds will go to fund the surfing kids (surfboards and accessories) of Tarkwa Bay where Amir spent quite some time during his last months. Tarkwa Bay has been featured on CNN and NIKE’s IG page.

 

NATURE

Approximate fundraising needed: $25,000

• Water Wells: $15,000

• Cedar Trees: $5,000

• Animals of Lebanon: $5,000

A portion of the proceeds of this fund will also go to building water wells in underprivileged/malnourished counties such as Bangladesh, Chad, Mozambique, Ghana, Mali etc. Secondly, we will plant Cedar trees in Amir’s name. Lastly, Amir loved Animals; we will be donating to Animals of Lebanon which do God's work in the space of saving all kinds of animals, from cats & dogs to neglected bears, lions and tigers

For example, within the comments section, if you'd like the total amount of your donation to go to a specific initiative or sub-initiative, then please let us know. Otherwise, the fund will be distributed across all initiatives by the Fund's trustees.
