AMINGA 2023 Program
Tax deductible
Please help us raise $15,000 by June 2023 to fund classroom supplies, sports equipment, and three meals a day for all the youth participants of the AMINGA Youth Sports Development Program in São Vicente, Cape Verde. Please help us make AMINGA: Youth Sports Development Program a sustainable education program in Africa!
After running the summer camp successfully two years in a row, we are excited to launch the third summer camp of the AMINGA Youth Sports Development Program. It will take place in July 2023. We will return to Escola Salesiana de Artes e Ofícios de Mindelo, Cape Verde, for seven days of intensive sports training, educational enrichment, and much more.
AMINGA’s Mission:
Give the young people of the global south the keys to unlocking their potential across any discipline. By building locally embedded and sustainable community programs, AMINGA facilitates knowledge exchange between local and international professionals. Young people are inspired to reach their full potential as individuals and as engaged community members.
Our Program:
In 2021 we focused on introducing our training and education concept with courses geared to 21st-century skills. In 2022 we saw our capacity double with 118 kids and the addition of a new sport, Handball, and a new Arts course.
AMINGA is changing lives and has become a fixture of the community in Sao Vicente.
2023 Goals:
In 2023 our goal is to engage more of the local community through skill-sharing workshops and implementing a co-teaching model. We will also solidify our sports and academic curriculum by adding new courses centered around Human Rights and Career Readiness.
How your donation can help AMINGA:
A gift of$25~$50 will help us provide one day’s worth of meals for one youth.
A gift of $50~ $100 will help us provide classroom supplies for one volunteer teacher (English, Arts, Human Rights, Web Development, and Career Readiness)
A gift of $100~$200 will help us provide athletic equipment for a youth who needs it (i.e., sneakers, uniforms, sports bras, socks, and knee pads).
A gift of $500 or more will provide a scholarship opportunity for youth to attend an athletic and educational program in Portugal or the United States.
