Aminah's Pre-College Summer Program Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Aminah and I have been accepted into the Carnegie Mellon Pre-College Drama program. I am so grateful to have received a partial scholarship through my high school and am looking to cover the remaining cost of my tuition ($6,500) by May 4th. Acting is my first love and one of my many artistic passions. I am so excited about my acceptance because I will have the opportunity to further study acting/musical theatre in a college setting. This summer intensive is important to me because it will help me to grow as an actor and artist. There are so many artists out there who understand what it means to pursue a career in the arts whether it’s through arts in high school, a summer intensive, college, or life after college and I believe that a financial barrier should not be the thing that keeps you from achieving your dreams and nurturing your passions.

Many of you might not know me personally, but I hope that my passion and commitment shine through my words and that they inspire someone else not to be afraid to ask for help to achieve their goals because it does take a village. I will be grateful for any amount as each dollar will bring me closer to my dream. I have also done some math and found that one way to reach my goal is if 130 people can donate 50 dollars each. I believe in the arts and I believe in the power of unity created through our passion— the shared desire to do something we love, with love.
