American With Ukraine Army Needs Leg
Donation protected
Hi all,
I’m an American advisor to the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Force. It has been my greatest honor to help these incredible people in their battle for survival.
I am a right leg amputee and was overdue for a new prosthetic when the conflict started. I made the choice to assist the Ukrainian Army first and worry about my leg later. After some time in Ukraine with the military, my prosthetic has unfortunately broken and caused me some extremely painful injuries.
My insurance refuses to cover prosthetics and I’m unfortunately completely out of pocket for having a new one made. I’ve been getting medical treatment in a neighboring country and have returned to the states for a short time to try and get a new leg made.
Many of the people I correspond with told me to post this as most of my finances have gone towards travel and funding what I can for military gear that has been donated. I badly need help being able to walk but please don’t donate if you must choose between this and a Ukrainian charity. I’d rather go back into a wheelchair than take money better spent on them.
You can check my Twitter at PegLegActual for verified proof/pictures that I have been with the military in Ukraine. You can see and read my many interviews about the one legged limping American in Ukraine.
1. I’m Tim originally from the US. 2. I’m raising funds for my own new prosthetic leg and foot. These are two individually made pieces that connect at the ankle. The leg is custom molded to fit me at the stump of my amputation while the foot is premade but adjustable to help me walk. 3. These funds are being sent to my family’s bank account in the states. I live and work internationally so my family is helping me receive the funds since the leg is being made in the US. These funds will 100% go towards the purchase of a prosthetic upper leg, lower foot and rubber sleeves to help the device attach. Whatever is left will go towards badly needed physical rehabilitation. 4. When my amputation was performed, it was done in an emergency. I need a special kind of prosthetic leg as my current (locking screw non-mobility) is excruciatingly painful and is overdue for replacement and doesn’t fit. I constantly have to get my leg drained as the size changes from day to day and most days I can’t walk at all.
Slava Ukraini and God Bless.
