Hello!
We are the American Medical Women's Association at the University of Central Florida. We are an organization with the goal of uplifting other female healthcare students and creating a safe and enriching environment as it is common for women in the healthcare field to experience gender inequalities.
The 108th National AMWA conference will be held in Philadelphia to celebrate Women’s History Month. At this conference, all branches of AMWA from around North America come together to improve the outcomes for female healthcare professionals and their patients through educational seminars where we benefit from the speakers' insights and expertise along with hands-on workshops such as suturing and IUD placement workshops. Moreover, the conference attendees will sit in many lectures that educate them on diversity within the medical field. We will also learn how to improve LQBTQIA+ health through innovations in healthcare and address racial inequalities at medical institutions. Additionally, there will be multiple research poster presentations where attendees will be able to learn about new medical information.
We are trying to raise money to get the members to this conference and take advantage of this academically enriching opportunity for women and the future of the healthcare field. The goal of 8K will be enough to cover the airfare, hotel, and tickets to bring AMWA to this conference. We appreciate any help we can get!
