American Conservatory Theater Semester Program

Dear friends & family,

I'm excited to announce that I've been accepted into a full time Spring semester
Acting program at the American Conservatory Theater!

The American Conservatory Theater is a Tony Award-winning leading LORT
Equity Theater in San Francisco, whose mission is to engage the spirit of the San
Francisco Bay Area by telling stories that resonate and promote a diversity of
voices and points of view. 

The American Conservatory Theater holds a special place in my heart; it is where growing up, I saw the plays that shaped my interest in being an artist. It is where I took my first musical theater class, and where I went to rehearse  while
understudying Becky Nurse of Salem at the Berkeley Repertory Theater.

As an Oakland native, my biggest goal is to be an actor in the Bay Area theater
community. I care so deeply about this community at large, and it would be a
dream come true to immerse myself in it.

The San Francisco Semester Program is a semester-long full time intensive that
offers in depth training into classical and contemporary elements of theater with
incredible teachers and artistic staff, many of whom teach at A.C.T's M.F.A
program. One of my favorite parts about this program is its commitment to
highlighting the importance of arts education and outreach in the Bay Area
community. As someone who grew up with arts programming in the Bay Area,
I can attest to the profound impact this type of programming had on my life early on. 

In order to attend this program, I need to raise $4,000 before January 25th,
the program's start date.

Due to the economic impact Covid 19 has had on the creative industry as a whole, I've found myself struggling to come up with this amount myself. I will continue to save on my own, apply to grants, and look for additional ways to raise funding.
