In 2020, over 1.8 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer. Out of those 1.8 million, 600,000 will not be able to survive it. In the US, cancer is one of the top leading causes of death. In a study conducted in 2019, 63% of cancer patients reported financial struggles after receiving their cancer diagnosis. It takes hundreds of lives every, single day. We are high school students working directly with the American Cancer Society in order to help lead the world to a cancer-free future. We will use any money that is donated to reinforce the many existing ACS programs (such as funding breakthrough research, providing early screening tests to underprivileged areas, spreading awareness on the importance of early detection) as well as supporting patients who cannot afford the expensive cost of living with cancer.
