Amena's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
This gofundme campaign is meant to assist a dear friend, Amena Chaudhry, manage a series of unexpected incidents that have resulted in significant financial hardship for her and her family.
In November 2020 Amena received major surgery, since which she has been dealing with life-threatening complications that have resulted in numerous hospitalizations. Five weeks into recovery from surgery, Amena ended up in the hospital with both her lungs peppered with blood clots: bi-lateral and scattered pulmonary embolisms. While in this fragile state Amena was rear ended, resulting in whiplash and a significant concussion. This incident made recovery more complicated and prevented her from working at full capacity which resulted in the loss of her job.
The road to recovery is still quite long. It’s been estimated to take 2-years, without complications, to recover from pulmonary embolisms. Even though Amena is 9 months into her recovery, simple everyday tasks like taking a shower can feel like a cardio workout and climbing a set of stairs requires her to take multiple breaks and on some days is simply not doable.
For those already asking how you can help, medical bills and ongoing expenses will continue to accumulate, and we can offer our financial support to the family to help ease these ongoing burdens. This kind gesture will allow them to focus on healing and each of their own well-being through this tumultuous time in their lives.
Funds collected will be used to pay off financial debt accrued to date since surgery as well as cover ongoing expenses related to recovery.
Amena is a camera shy person so I’ve included a photo of her cats who have been accompanying her on this healing journey and very much want her to get better.
