Amelie's trip to Borneo 2024

Hi, my name is Amelie and this summer I am fortunate enough to be travelling with my school to Borneo through Camps International. I will get to experience a totally different way of life, living as part of a rural community and working together to create sustainable change.

During my 4 weeks there I will be helping to support local communities by undertaking a variety of projects.

These can range from helping to build community centres, constructing youth centres, improving the villages drainage systems, establishing community farming programmes and assisting ongoing conservation projects.

I will also be taking part in a jungle trek where I will have the opportunity to explore the unique jungle ecosystem and unexplored tropical wilderness.

During my 4 weeks in Borneo I am excited to experience the lives of people in different communities and explore what life can really be like without the everyday luxuries we take for granted. Living in the heart of a rural village and working alongside local people, supporting community development will be incredible and help not only the local community but help me grow as a person, broaden my horizons and hopefully help with future university and job opportunities.

I am hoping to raise some money to pay for the kit and equipment needed for the trip so if you are able to donate, any amount would really be appreciated.
