Amelie's Dancing Dreams

Donation protected
Hi there,

My name is Angela Caesar. I'm mum to two beautiful children, Amelie, who's 17 and Rosario (Rossi), who's 7! They are my everything and I have always tried my absolute best to give them everything I possibly can within my reach. Amelie has been Dancing from a very young age, starting Ballet at the age of 3. It quickly became one of her favourite things to do. After moving back to my hometown here in Cairns , just before Amelie started school, she trialled a ballet school here in Cairns before deciding she didn't like the strict ballet culture. She participated in a less structured and encouraging dance class before trying Acrobatics for a few years before she was being recognised for her talents and offered a spot in a cheerleading squad, that unfortunately was unaffordable to me at the time. Amelie's love of performing and practising all the skills she had acquired in these earlier years made it clear that this was something that made her smile and gave her so much confidence so I searched around and found a fun and encouraging dance studio that offered different dance styles that she could try. She quickly fell in love with 'Contemporary' dance and her dancing obsession soon began, each year passed with her pleading me to allow her to add more and more different styles to her repertoire of classes and end of term performances!!

After her Dad's unexpected death in 2019, when she was just about to turn 12, it became clear that Dancing was fast becoming, not only her passion but a way for her to express her grief and sadness that this profound loss had caused her.

Her strength, resilience and Talent just kept on growing and before she knew it, she had been accepted as an assistant dance teacher where she was enrolled and offered in house training to become a qualified dance teacher, which only exasperated her love and ever growing talent in this beautiful art form. I can't tell you how many dances I've watched her perform over the years but I never get tired of watching her, she has such a magical presence on stage, making it almost impossible not to notice her talent and love of Dancing. She quickly became a much loved part of the teaching team, taking private and group classes during this time and forming some unbreakable friendships and support.

Starting afresh this year with a more commercial & progressive studio where she's been able to hone her skills as a dancer, taking on a class of her own to teach already and performing at various events around town as part of a performance troop, she decided to try her luck at auditioning for some prestigious Dance Academy's down south, hoping to secure a spot in a full-time dance program for 2026 after completing Year 12. This will give her the skills and experience that could open up more opportunities and help her reach her dream of becoming a professional Choreographer and Dancer and maybe one day owning her own studio.
As her mother, I will do everything possible to turn this dream into a reality!
She was accepted into not only 1 but numerous dance schools throughout Australia, allowing her to choose a small, very selective, Boutique Dance Academy in Sydney that can offer her extensive training in this incredibly competitive industry and give her a good head start/leg up/introduction into the professional commercial dance world.
With only 6 months or so left before she leaves to embark on this exciting and epic move, thousands of km's away from her home and family, I'm becoming increasingly worried that despite both of our efforts in saving as much money as we possibly can to put towards this opportunity, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the sheer amount required for 1 years tuition to cover the program, not to mention the huge cost of setting herself up in a big, stupidly expensive, metropolitan city and the ever increasing cost of living that she will be thrown into managing so quickly (so grateful one of her besties is going with her) Not only will she be dancing full-time but will hopefully be able to transfer to a job in close proximity with her current employer/hotel chain she works for but I'm worried the stress and sheer amount of hours she will need to do to be able to afford it all, even with my help!!
*Dance Fee's for 1 year = $17,000
*Relocation/accomodation/living expenses estimated to be somewhere around $10-15,000 (I think that's being a little conservative though...)
Happy to provide more detailed info on her Dance Academy she is enrolled in or projected cost of living expenses I've predicted.
I know there are so many souls out there who need financial assistance for so many heart wrenching and deserving charitable causes but as you can imagine, this single mumma is feeling a tad defeated in my lack of ability to make this kind of money appear in my bank account before Xmas!! As Amelie's 18th birthday draws closer, we thought that maybe in liou of gifts, that if you could make a small donation instead, we could bring her a little closer to living out this dream. if any of you can possibly afford to or feel compelled to donate to Amelie's Dance Dream and help make this transition more obtainable for my babygirl, we would both be eternally grateful for your generosity and kindness!! All funds will go directly to Amelie and promptly distributed where needed.
If you've made it all the way to the end, Thank you for your time and for considering helping Amelie get where she wants to be!!

Love to you all,
Angela ♥️
