Hi everyone!
For those of you who have known me and my work over the years, hearing that I have medical bills that are financially staggering to me is probably not a huge shock.
To those of you who may be new to the magic that is me, allow me to introduce myself:
My name is Amelie and I am a freelance comic book artist and part time art instructor. I have spent the last 15 years traveling across the country as a guest speaker and art demonstrator for animation conventions. While it has been a rewarding experience in countless ways, it has not, unfortunately, allowed me to look after myself properly in the medical department. Believe it or not, cartoonists don't make all that much money. Shocker of the century, I also am uninsured.
As a result, I find myself in the position of needing to reach out for help to pay for my upcoming surgery.
I have a 7.4 mm kidney stone causing me

INTENSE pain and I am in need of surgical assistance to have it removed. Due to it's size, it must be surgically removed rather than just waiting as it will not pass on it's own.
The size of the stone has made simple daily activity extremely painful.
Having just spoken with the hospital, my surgery, fees and post op medicine will cost just under $3,500.
Needless to say, I do not have $3,500. If I can not raise the money by Monday the 28th of May, I will not be able to have my surgery as scheduled and I will have to put it off until such time as I can pay.
The Idea of putting this procedure off is very very scary as the pain is, at times, crippling.
I have spoken to the hospital billing department and they can set up a payment plan, but I would still need to pay $2,306.70 on the day of surgery, May 29, 2018.
Any help that can be offered is so very appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Please give a share! Every little bit helps.
