Amelia's Surgery Fund

Hi friends! This is my best friend, Emily Waters, but we all call her Amelia. She is a delight, so loyal, creative beyond believe, and has the biggest heart. She is a mother of 3 beautiful girls and married to the love of her life, Robert Waters.

Well, on April 12, Amelia has to have hysterectomy surgery to remove her uterus and fix her prolapse. I like to say that Amelia’s bones are made of Legos, but the scientific term is Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It’s a connective tissue disorder which means she is hyper flexible and that her organs are trying to make a great escape out of her body. Her daughter Eliza almost slid right out at 19 weeks, putting Amelia on bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy. (Eliza is now a happy and healthy 1 year old, praise the Lord.)

Amelia shouldn’t have to worry about a prolapse if she wants to go for a run. She shouldn’t have to push her organs back in place regularly. So she is having the surgery she needs to live a safer, healthier life.

But surgeries are expensive and health insurance is a joke. That’s where we come in. Our friends, Amelia and Rob, shouldn’t have to worry about whether their family can afford a life-changing and necessary surgery. So I started this GoFundMe for her to help take some of the stress off of an already stressful situation. Any little bit helps and I know she will be eternally grateful!

Surgery costs are still unknown and insurance has been inconclusive with how much they will cover, but will probably be in the thousands, so we are going to raise as much as we can to give this wonderful family peace of mind!
