On 8/27 we had a surprise party for Amelia's 8th birthday, when we were leaving a driver not paying attention to the road hit amelia as we were crossing the street as a family. There are no words for the horror of seeing your child hit by a speeding car going nearly 50 miles an hour feet from you and being unable to do anything in time to stop it. Luckily a police officer was there when it happened so an ambulance was there in minutes and she was quickly flown to a children's hospital.

Her injuries are substantial: several fractures to her skull, broken collarbone, concussion, large cut across her forehead requiring many stitches and she's covered in bruises and road rash. We are VERY lucky it wasn't worse.

Amelia has been discharged from the hospital. She is in alot of pain and has a long recovery infront of her.

Since we moved from California to Texas in mid July our new insurance doesn't go into effect until mid september so we have applied for emergency insurance but the bills are beginning to pile up and any help would be appreciated.
