Hi, I am Amelia Anderson, 14 years old, and so honoured to have been selected to be on the Australian Dragon Boat team!

I have worked very hard to get to this point, needing mental and pysical strength, and determination. 

Dragon Boating is an amazing sport covering all ages and ability levels.  I absolutely love it, and my club, The Mandurah Vikings, who support me all the way!  My Mum and Dad are also Dragon Boaters and we train and compete as a family.

I have paddled in the Dragon Boat Nationals for the last 2 years, representing Western Australia.  I have 6 bronze medals, 2 silver medals and one gold medal.  I have also competed in many marathon events.

The World Champs is in Divonne, France in July 2017.  I have not travelled much before, and am so excited to go to Europe.  The last training camp for this campaign is in Brisbane just before we fly out to France.  The training and competition will take about 2 weeks and it is my plan to see a bit of Europe before coming home.  I will do this with family friends I have over there, and as I am homeschooled , this trip will be of huge benifit to my education, as well as my sport.

I am raising money for all of my airfares, camp costs, accomodation and meals, as well as uniform and a special paddle made for the occassion.
