Amelia Pelusa (Spanish for Fluff) is a precious little white floof with a very serious problem. When she was young, living with her original family, they didnt fully understand how small and delicate Amelia was. Therefore, they were unaware of the special care she needed as a tiny 3 lb pup. She was often given food and left alone. The other large dogs living in the same house would eat her food regularly, leaving Amelia with an empty stomach. The household staff would assume she had eaten. This occurred regularly.  Amelia became severely malnourished.

One day she had sudden hemorrhagic diarrhea which was so severe that she couldn’t hold her head up. The housekeeper found her in her crate, unconscious. She was rushed  to the hospital where she stayed for ten days.

This problem was a result of neglect and resulting malnourishment . Her intestines became so severely inflamed that they never fully recovered. Additionally she was always at risk of this recurring.

This illness transpired before her kyphosis  emerged & the two are not related.

She is now under a controlled prescription  diet under my care.I carefully supervise portions. For the past two years she has been in perfect health until last weekend. She was stricken again with sudden hemorrhagic diarrhea. She was rushed to hospital before she got worse. Amelia  went into septic shock and was in the ICU for seven days. She was given a 50/50 chance to live. The challenge to

bring her levels back up were overwhelming.

Somehow, as tiny as she is, she summoned the strength & bravery to fight back. Against all odds, she survived. She is now recovering at home. She is just  starting to eat proper food after having been fed though a gastrointestinal tube at the hospital.

She’s looking better and brighter every day. We are hopeful for a full recovery.

The hospital fees were £4,626/.

When I adopted Amelia she was ineligible for insurance because of this original hemorrhagic  diarrhea  was considered a pre-existing condition and also because of her kyphosis disability.

She is a tiny little heroine and an inspiration, as well as an example of perseverance, determination and love for life. I have done everything in my power to provide her with a happy life

With the help of her  family on Instagram, we got her wheels. Since then, she’s been a happy & precious little thing, ruling her crowd of friends at the park. Her confidence has bloomed.

We are confident  that with a lot of love & patience that we can give her the best quality of life possible. Every day she gives back priceless joy to us. “Though small she is mighty, capable and brave!”

We are reaching out to you for help with her hospital fees via this GFM. The bills are attached itemizing the £4,626.
