Amelia’s Journey

You may not know Kon, Georgia and their two beautiful girls, Amelia and Ariana. They are a family known for their kindness, warmth, and generosity — always thinking of others, always showing up with love and laughter.

Right now, they are walking through one of the hardest chapters any family can face.

Earlier this year, their world was turned upside down when 8-year-old Amelia suddenly became very unwell. She began suffering from severe headaches and vomiting and told her parents she felt as though her head was “falling.” Rushed to emergency, an MRI scan revealed a devastating diagnosis — Amelia had a large tumour on the left side of her brain.

Amelia has since undergone major brain surgery, where doctors were able to remove approximately 80–90% of the tumour. What should have been an exciting start to Grade 3 has instead been replaced with hospital stays, treatments, and unimaginable challenges for a little girl who should only be worrying about school, friends, and play.

Throughout this journey, Kon and Georgia have had no choice but to step away from both their jobs and their family business to be by Amelia’s side — to comfort her, advocate for her, and hold their family together during the most uncertain days of their lives.

Amelia’s younger sister, Ariana, has just begun her first year of Prep. While trying to settle into school, she is also coping with the absence of her sister and the changes within her family — something no child should have to understand so young.

As they face each day with courage and hope, we are reaching out to the community who loves them. Our hope is to ease some of the weight they are carrying, so they can focus on what truly matters: Amelia’s healing, recovery, and being together as a family.
