Amelia in Paris (T1D)

Amelia is the sweetest little girl with the most vibrant personality. A few years ago she was suddenly rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Since then, she has taken it in stride! But she's also had to sit out a lot.

Her dance team was recently offered the opportunity to travel to Paris in 2026 to dance in a Disney Parade (amazing, right?). I can't think of anyone more deserving for a special, once-in-a-lifetime, childhood adventure than Amelia.

Amelia must have a guardian with her, and with her medical needs, her Mom is the best and only person to go with her, hands down.

I am her Mom's (work) colleague. She mentioned this opportunity to me but said she didn't have the funds, so they couldn't go. She is a single mom and has other priorities that have to be put first (e.g., a new roof, fix the car). So, she didn't tell Amelia about the trip so she wouldn't get her hopes up. But then a friend at school told Amelia about Paris and she came home so excited! Her mom was so sad she couldn't make her dream come true.

When I found out, I promised Amelia's Mom that I would fundraise any way I could think of and we would raise the money for them both to go. It also just so happens that Amelia's Mom will be celebrating a milestone birthday at the same time this trip would happen. I mean, can it be more fated?! KIZMET!

As I said, I can't think of a more deserving duo for this unforgettable experience! Everything raised will go to Amelia and her Mom for this trip. If we raise more, AMAZING! I know every penny will go to great use.

So, remember your own dreams and what a trip like this would have meant to you as a little kid. Let's get Amelia to Paris!
