Amelia in Italia!!

About Me:
Hi! My name is Amelia Gil-Figueroa and I am currently a first year Masters student studying Vocal Performance
at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD.
During my undergraduate years at George Mason University, I found out about La Musica Lirica - a five week summer program in beautiful Novafeltria, Italy -that focuses on providing training and performance opportunities to young singers seeking to grow in their artistic abilities. While I was unable to attend in my Mason years, this year I have been offered the opportunity to cover (or understudy) the role of Donna Elvira in their production of Don Giovanni by W.A. Mozart.
While there, I will have weekly opera coachings, voice lessons, and Italian language classes, participating in master classes and staging of the opera. At the end of the program, I will be able to perform a piano run of Don Giovanni along with all the other covers! I believe this will be a wonderful opportunity for me in my future career.
How Can You Help:
What I am asking for is help to attend this program. The tuition alone is $5,500 and this does not include housing or meals while I am in Italy.
At the moment I am trying to save as much as I can in order to cover the extra costs. However the tuition is out of my reach, hence the reason for this campaign. As I mentioned above, I have not been able to attend this program in the past, having been greatly deterred by its expense.
Complete tuition is due May 15th and any amount whether it be $5 or $500, anything that you are comfortable with and able to donate, will go a long way.
If you would like more information about the program please feel free to visit their website : La Musica Lirica.
Thank you so much for reading this blurb and for helping me in my educational and career pursuits!!
