The National Junior Beta Club at Amelia Earhart Options for Knowledge School located in an underserved community on the Southside of Chicago has earned the right to attend the National Junior Beta Club Convention in Orlando, Florida on June 25th-28th! The National Junior Beta Club earned Second Place in Book Battle, Speech, Handmade Jewelry, Group Talent and Third Place in Banner at the State of Illinois Junior Beta Convention which has qualified them for the opportunity to compete at the National Convention!
The Junior Beta Club is a group of 6th-8th grade students who excel in the areas of Achievement, Character, Leadership, and Service. To become a member of this group, students must maintain a 3.6 grade point average or highter. Students are also required to complete 10 hours of service activities per quarter. In our school setting, these students stand out among their peers by consistently showing strong character and setting a good example for other students to follow.
We need your help in sending our students to this prestigious convention which will highlight their individual and collective talents!
You hear all of the negativity on the news about the Southside of Chicago, but this group of dynamic students is a beacon of light that should shine brightly on our community!
Let's make a difference by sending the students to Orlando to represent our city and our community!
