Help Joshua Finish at AMDA

Hello, my name is Joshua Pitts and I am a 24-year-old dancer/choreographer from Houston, Texas. I am currently a second semester dance theater student at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. In my time at AMDA, I have been fortunate to work with, and learn from, so many accomplished professionals while building amazing connections and relationships. In my two semesters here, I have had the opportunity to participate in Dance Workshop which is a performance the dance department puts on every semester. I was, also, cast in the first student-led production at AMDA “The Dreamgirls Revue.” This semester, a dance I choreographed was selected to be showcased in a performance held at AMDA called Spotlight. Spotlight is difficult to be selected for because we only have ten minutes to showcase works from the dance department. Being here has pushed me as a dancer and a choreographer. Beginning in the fall I will be finishing my final two semesters at AMDA, but I have hit a road block in being able to fund my education at AMDA. I was fortunate that my mom was able to pay for my first year here, and a portion of my second year, but, as of now, all resources at my disposal have run out. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are not able to apply for loans. I am able to begin the summer, but with how finances are right now, I won't be able to finish. I'm really between a rock and a hard place. Through your help, I'll be able to pay the tuition and housing. This is a dream that has finally been realized, and this is an amazing opportunity to propel me to be the dancer and choreographer I want to be.
