Mrs Modupe Ogunsusi, fondly called Aunty Dupe has an unmistakable passion for education that is palpable and contagious. A few decades ago, she and her ever supportive husband, Dr Babatunde Ogunsusi left their comfort zone for the town of their origin to pioneer nursery/primary education. This gave birth to the very popular Aunty Dupe Nursery/Primary School, Ile-Oluji in September 1985. Leveraging also on her wealth of experience in the Ministry of Education over the years, this single school grew to birth 3 more of its kind in Ile-Oluji & Bamikemo, Akinyosoye Model Colleges (A.M.C), Gabriel Akinyosoye Technical College, all in Ondo State, Nigeria.
Today, Aunty Dupe turns 70; and she is simply not resting on her oars. She is indeed a gift that keeps giving! She has asked nothing for herself, no party or fanfare; all she wants is the much needed support to pioneer Technology in education in her community to meet global standards. It’s our delight to see this dream materialize.
Aunty Dupe’s current project to mark age 70 is the AMC CBT center, a Computer Based Testing (CBT) and prometric center to meet the needs of the immediate community, Ondo State and Nigeria community at large. The center will serve as a host centre for national examinations such as JAMB, NECO and other Nigerian computer based examinations, and will also serve as a prometric centre for international examinations.
Family, friends, old students and all are joining hands together to raise additional funds needed to provide a total of three hundred computers and laptops, standard generator and air conditioning to service the AMC ICT center.
It takes a village to raise a child, and a single child impacted, is a generation affected.
