Ambo Solidarity with Phil Cavanagh
Donation protected
Phil Cavanagh started his career in ambulance in 1980 (bottom right in photo). He became a MICA Paramedic and later finished up as Assistant Secretary of the union (a position he held until 2013). In his time at the union he helped out so many of his ambulance workmates and fought hard for improvements to their wages and conditions.
Phil's greatest fight lies ahead. He has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of terminal bowel cancer. While we hope for the best, the prognosis is not positive.
A number of former workmates from ambulance and the union are banding together to raise some funds to assist Phil's family. Life challenges have meant that Phil will not retire with the amount of superannuation that most of his ambulance colleagues would.
We are reaching out to the ambulance family hoping to raise some much needed funds. All funds raised and collected through this page go directly to Phil and his Family.
