My name is Kathy Hopkins and I am seeking donations to help with financial needs for my daughter Amber McRoberts-Nothstine who is battling a very rare brain tumor. She was diagnosed on May 15, 2013 with Adult  sPNET ( Supratentorial Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor of the central nervous system) which is inoperable. A sPNET is an embryonal tumor which predominantly occurs in children and is rare with only  2-3% of pediatric tumors being this type. It is extremely rare in the central nervous system of an adult (0.08 per million adults) and reported in 2012 of less than 100 known adult cases internationally to be Supratentorial .  She is now in salvage therapy, also known as rescue therapy. This is therapy given to save or rescue a patient when other therapy has not worked. The current treatment is trying to but time.  There are no clinical trials available for her because of her age and this being a pediatric tumor.  Amber is 38 years old, a wonderful wife, a great mother to 3 sons, the youngest is 8. She is the big sister to 5 siblings. A nurse who worked as a single parent at the time, to put herself through nursing school. Amber is a fighter, the most amazing woman I know and she is my hero. A dedicated nurse, she continued to work while enduring most of the first chemo treatment in 2014 but has now been put on FMLA from her job because of  tumor recurrence and side effects of  high-dose chemotherapy. We are currently searching the nation for someone, somewhere to take her to get help. Her health insurance limits options here where she lives. As with any cancer patient, this has turned her and her family's lives upside down. The loss of an income and the cost of cancer patient care even with health insurance.  So please, if you are able to support her by making a donation to help, PLEASE DO. Every little bit will make a difference, help greatly and  be so much appreciated. And please pray for her. I know the goal is high but the need is great and our GOD IS BIG!!!
