After a traumatic car accident, driver fell asleep at the wheel causing me to fly 80 mph out of the passenger side window off the side of the freeway landing on a barbed wire fence which snapped and wrapped around my body, waking up 56 feet from where the car landed, I was lucky that the only thing that happened was a shattered L5 & a dislocated L4 tearing my spinal cord. (And some internal bleeding) I was in the hospital for the next month and over the past 2 years I've had to relearn how to walk. At the time, I didn't know I was in it for the rest of my life..And as we all know life gets expensive and every physical therapy & dr appts, every medication, every medical equipment I've needed I've had to figure out how to pay for. Luckily I have a very supportive family who I wouldn't have gotten through these times without.
Usually insurance covers a %, but with my recent policy change, this certain device does not have any coverage.
If you spare even $1 it's a dollar closer I will be to being able to having this device forever and eventually be running with the help of it!!
Before my brace Doctor, at HangarBrace Clinic in La Mesa California, showed me this walkaide I felt like there wasn't much more I could be doing as if my recovery was at a standstill.
This shed a new light, gave me another reason to get back into PT knowing that my muscles can still get stronger everyday.
My speed hadn't increased much at all before the walkaide. Now I am so close to a normal walking pace when walking around with my friends!
But the walkaide I have currently is only a loaner and sooner or later I'm going to have to return it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and listen to my story.
And thank you in advanced, sincerely from me and my family for any contributions made, it means the world to me that there are people out there who help others in times of need.
