If you have entered any local Dollar General store in the last 10 years, chances are, you have met my sister. She is one of the strongest and bravest individuals that I know. A few months ago, while trying to take care of some cosmetic and painful veins in her legs, the Dr. decided to order a CT scan of her abdomen to ensure that there were no blockages. They didn't find any blockages during that scan, but what they did find was something that none of us were prepared for. They found a mass on her right kidney, and after further testing, the mass appears to be malignant. Today marks her last day at Dollar General for a while and her beginning in the battle that I know that she will conquer. Next week, she undergoes the first procedure to see what type of cancer it is and to determine how it is going to be treated.
Nothing we can do will ease the stress of her going through this, but what we can do is ease the financial burden of going from a 2 person income to a 1 person family income. Please consider helping Amber during this time. #AmberStrong
