Amber's Battle Against Cancer

Donation protected

For those of you that may know or for those who have yet to find out, my cousin Amber Laguer was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in her jaw, which is a rare disease in which cancer cells are found in the bone or in soft tissue.

Back in March, Amber started to feel some discomfort in her mouth and she developed a cyst in which it started to swell up. She was given some antibiotics by her doctor and the swelling went down, but it was only a temporary fix, because as soon as she was off the medication,  the pain came back.

As the swelling of the cyst progressively got worst, she was referred to go to Boston Children's Hospital to get the cyst removed.

This past week she was admitted and she got a CAT Scan of her jaw, and when the results of the procedure came back, we were told that the cyst turned out to be a tumor. After that Amber had a biopsy done to see if the tumor was cancerous, and when the results came back, we found out that she had Ewing's Sarcoma.

Today Amber was discharged from the hospital, but she still has a long journey ahead of her.

If you know my cousin Dave Laguer, he's not just a cousin to me, he's like an older brother. Ever since I was young, I saw how much Dave valued his family, and when Amber was born, it just validated how much of a family guy he is.

Dave's a very dedicated father and Amber means the world to him. There's absolutely nothing he wouldn't do for her.

Recently Dave has gotten a new full time job, to help support his growing family, but with Amber's diagnosis, he wants to be there every step of the way. Amber's only 6 years old, and she needs her father to be there as much as he can.

The doctors have told us that she'll be needing to recieve about 9-10 months of treatment for her cancer. She'll be needing to recieve a couple rounds of radiation therapy  at the Springfield Cancer Center to help stunt the growth of the tumor and extinguish it.

As you all know, nothing that is worth while in this world is free, the medical treatment comes with a price tag.

Donating money will help Dave support Amber and let him be there for her throughout  every step of Amber's Battle against Cancer.

We are reaching out to all of our wonderful friends and family to try and help us raise the funds needed to help her. Please reach into your hearts and help us support Amber so that she can return to being the healthy, happy, and loving 6 year old that she is. Even if you can’t spare any money, please spare a second and share our story in the hopes that others might be able to help.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and thank you for all the love and support.
