Amber's Quest for Life

Donation protected

This is Amber West and her daughter Skylie.  Amber is the daughter of Trent and Alice West.  She has been battling Chronic Neuro-Lyme Disease for many years. It took the medical community so long to diagnose it, it has spread throughout her body and she is now battling for her life.

She has been through every available medical venue.  Unfortunately, due to lack of recognition and understanding of Chronic Lyme by most medical doctors, she and her loved ones have found that diagnosis and treatment for her condition here in the United States is extremely lacking.  Her family has often experienced hostility by well-meaning but uninformed medical professionals, who don't believe Lyme is an active problem here in the Intermountain West, in spite of the fact that reliable DNA Connexions testing shows she is suffering from Neuro Lyme, with several other virulent co-infections, and many others in our communities are suffering with it as well.

Regardless of the years of treatment she has received, it has failed to help -instead it  has even hindered in many cases.  She has continued to decline at an ever-increasing rate.

She now has seizures, sometimes up to fifteen times a day. One of these, lasting for hours, resulted in the necessity of a medically induced coma to halt the seizure activity when nothing else would.

Most recently she developed Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, which causes her chronic hives inside and outside of her body, often resulting in anaphylactic shock.  In addition, she deals daily with whole body inflammation, extreme fatigue, joint pain, confusion, migraines, tachycardia, fibromyalgia, and digestive problems among the many other conditions and infections her body is struggling to fight as the disease continues to rage on.

Sadly, her daughter has  been experiencing illness and symptoms as well. To her dismay, she recently found Skylie has also been diagnosed with Lyme disease, which we learned was passed on by her mother at birth (babies born to a mother who carries the Lyme Borrelia Bacteria have a 90% chance of contracting it as well).
She too, must be treated promptly before it continues to spread and destroy her health any further.

Miraculously, her loved ones found medical professionals who have referred her to a clinic in Germany. This clinic has a proven, remarkably high success rate in treating patients with Lyme disease and she has been accepted! The scheduled date was February 2 through the 22nd of 2020. However, due to some recent setbacks the dates have been readjusted to admit her in the St. George Hospital in April instead. We need all the help we can get!

Please check out the following links which explain the treatment and the outcomes. They have had remarkable success with even the most advanced cases.

According to a local university study, 30% of ticks in Utah have tested positive for Lyme disease. It is being called the most complex, misunderstood and misdiagnosed disease in the world today and is spreading at an alarming rate. There is much misinformation that needs to be cleared up and better understood.

The final hurdle this wonderful family faces is the funding for her treatment. She needs the clinic costs covered, the travel, and six months to a year post care. They also will be looking into dental care that must be done to completely eradicate the disease. There is no insurance that will cover these in state and out-of-country costs.

Realize this treatment not only helps Amber and her daughter, but that Lyme is an ever increasing threat to all of us. Helping Amber and Skylie heal will help doctors here in the United States to open their minds and make similar treatments become available to everyone.
