Amber's last-ditch foundation fix
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Amber. I am a single mom and I bought my first house in July of 2019. In August of 2020, there were very suddenly very large cracks all over my house.
In the 3 months since then, I've been told what the issue is and I've looked into every solution I can think of. I've also had people telling me to patch and move. I've already put so much work into this house, I don't want to move. I'm making it just right for me and my young daughter and our dog.
The foundation company I chose, told me to replace 3 of the foundation walls and fix the grading issues, which would fix all the other smaller issues from past patches/home repairs.
The repairs cost just shy of $19,000. I've been told by one of the foundation repairmen that this can wait 2-3 years, if I needed to find money, but not to push past 5. My expenses aren't going to change and my income isn't going to change. I will have 2 tax returns in those 3 years that will probably give me a few $1000, that I'm going to put toward this. Everyone knows, tho, that as soon as you save something, something breaks. Especially with young children.
So. Here I am. Asking for anything. Whatever I cannot raise, I will have to take a loan out for. So if even 100 people donate $100, that's half of my goal, plus my tax returns, and the loan I'd have to take out would be manageable.
Thank you.
