My name is Amber Tamm.

For the past 10 years, I have been working on the ground and grassroots level to build food sovereignty and make food a human right for all.

In 2020, after rising to internet popularity for feeding folks through the pandemic, I was given $130K as start up funds for land access. Two years ago, I purchased 86 acres after being homeless for 9 years. Due to the lack of community/grassroots support and lack of government funds/grants, I have not been able to fully start my own farm business and am deeply steeped in debt for the land I purchased ($700,000).

On a personal level: I have endometriosis, which is a very seriously debilitating disease that acts like cancer. My endometriosis has just progressed, and in its progression, it has taken my capacity to be able-bodied. This lack of physical health is deeply heavy on my mental health. Lastly, I am still deeply healing from the trauma of my father murdering my mother, which was the reason I started farming altogether (losing my parents left me in need of income and housing simultaneously).

As someone who does not have an in-person support system, I am coming again to this digital community to ask for support. As I put this land up for sale, I am asking for funds to help me in the interim.

I am genuinely asking y’all to help me get on my feet.

These funds will be allocated for my health expenses (acupuncture, therapy, herbs, and medicine), groceries, paying the mortgage, and helping me secure a new place to live in a new state.

I truly, truly do not like asking for help like this, as my dream is to be an autonomous woman.

But it’s urgent and an emergency. I’d appreciate any help.
