Hey y'all. We were desperately hoping it wouldn't come to asking others for help, but sadly it has gotten to that point. Amber was diagnosed with Triple negative breast cancer, sadly she did not catch it early enough, by the time we found out, the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and brain stem and is continuing to spread.
This particular type of Breast cancer is hard to treat, because the traditional treatment which would normally be a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation and a lots of other drugs and clinical trials. With triple negative, in basic terms, means you have to treat all three of the cancer cells and they all are treated differently. Amber has insurance, the standard 80/20, and we have all been keeping her head above water while she is fighting so she doesn't have to worry about money, however after spending tens of thousands of dollars, my dad pushing back his retirement, liquidation of assets, we can no longer keep going on our own. She was even denied a wig by her insurance because she is now considered terminal. She is opting to stop treatment because she feels awful guilty about the money. One medication she takes daily is over $1100 per month, and that's just for ONE! So I am now reaching out on behalf of my family to ask for any donations. Believe me I know times are hard. So many people are struggling. This is a very hard thing to ask, for people to donate their hard earned money, but my sister just turned 39 years old in December. She has five amazing kids who need their mom. We can't let her stop treatment without at the very least trying to raise money to help ease the cost of treatment and medication. Every single dollar will help and will be beyond appreciated. We would like to raise as much as possible and if we should get more than we need, we will donate any money not used to Breast Cancer research and or to help another woman and family in need. A very kind, generous woman donated Amber 3 wigs, that gesture helped ambers spirits tremendously.
If you can't donate money, please pray for her and our family. Prayers are also greatly appreciated. Our family is in crisis, we need help from our friends, old and new, our extended family, our neighbors, our community. I simply can not watch my sister stop treatment and slowly die because of lack of money. That's just not how a life should end. No parent should have to bury their child because the Doctors won't treat you unless you pay. How can money be worth more than life? As of now she can no longer afford her monthly medication and has stopped chemo because there isn't any money left. As much as I hate asking, if you have can donate, no amount is to small , we will be eternally grateful, your act of giving and kindness will never, ever be forgotten and could possibly save or at the least extend her life and time with her children and family and friends.
