Hello! My name is Wilma Cleverly and I am Amber Inglis Cleverly's mother-in-law, as many of you know Amber has recently been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and has been admitted to the Vancouver General Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Ward. It is estimated that she will be receiving treatment for a extended period of time so I am starting this gofundme page to help the family financially while she is dealing with her fight with cancer. This will enable her husband Les to be with her for the support she will desperately need. If you don't know who Amber is, let me tell you. She has been a staple in the lives of so many families in both Blind Bay and Salmon Arm B.C. A true Shuswapian! who has been involved in many not-for-profit organizations including having just been nominated and selected as the new secretary for the Shuswap Agricultural Association. She was really looking forward to getting started there. Many of you likely know her from her integral role in the operations of the Salmon Arm Demolition Derby and as Dave would call her "his right-hand-girl". Amber is crazy about ensuring the success of this event and has connected with several businesses as the Marketer, Fundraiser and Media Relations person. this year, she and Dave have added the addition of a dance and she is still hoping to be well enough to keep the planning going. Amber has met many friends and acquaintances through BCEHS where she completed her courses and successfully passed her EMAL exams enabling her to practice as a EMR paramedic. She loves to help people and her bedside manner shined through-people loved having her as their paramedic. On top of this, she started her courses as a Medical Aesthetician with the goal to work with the incredible team at Chadalin Skin& Laser allowing her to become licensed and went full oninto training where she flourished. She went down to Vancouver and completed her Basic Venipuncture Course and IV Nutrition Course and started taking over the IV Lounge at Chadalin. She adores her work family and hasn't been happier since finding her true passion. This has come as a complete shock to all of us. She is a Mother to 3 beautiful children: Hannah, Mannix and Levi and sadly given her state of extremely poor health while undergoing chemo it's advisable to keep visitors ( especially those that go to school) at a minimum or NIL. She is going to miss them more than anything, but everyone understands. Les is staying by her side and he is trying to find cheaper accommodations that keep him within a short drive to the hospital. they have a social worker who will help them navigate the financial aspect but so far they don't qualify for much. Les has taken a leave of absence fro his work so he can be right next to Amber which is exactly what she needs. Any help you can provide to get them through the next 2 months of living in Vancouver and the unexpected costs that have arisen, we as a family are incredibly grateful for your support.
