Here are her words for her current diagnosis and treatment plan.

“I’ve been putting off posting about this for awhile but I feel like the first step for me to process is to be completely transparent. As many of you know and probably more of you don’t know, last Monday I was diagnosed with breast cancer. More specifically, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma between stage 2-3. The cancer has spread to my lymph nodes but doctors aren’t really sure of anything beyond that. I have been to many, many appointments in the last week and to be perfectly honest, it’s A LOT. We’ve discussed treatment and will be starting chemo on the 13th for 20 weeks. Afterwards, there will be surgery and reconstruction, followed my another round of chemo and radiation.

This is all very overwhelming but I am even more overwhelmed with the amount of support I’ve received. I want everyone to know if I’m not responding or returning calls/texts, it’s not because I don’t see or value them, I’m just sorting through my own emotions. I am very positive and hopeful about the diagnosis and I know this is only a season in the grand scheme of things. With all that being said I could definitely use some prayers! I know this will be a long journey but I also know it’s all part of bigger plan.

Ladies, check yourself. If I hadn’t recognized a change, a routine mammogram wouldn’t be scheduled for another 3 years.
