Everyone who knows Amber knows that she is a fantastic mother to 3 busy, smart, and curious little boys, Bennett (6), Blake (5) and Max (2). She is an loving wife to her husband, Michael Dukeshire. She is a dedicated daughter, and best friend to her mother, Lori Mitchell. She is the best sister I could ever ask for. She is the coolest auntie to all her nieces and nephews, and a dedicated nurse to all her patients.

Amber was informed that a mass was cancerous on Monday, Dec 11, 2023 and began chemotherapy 2 days later. The prognosis is positive. The treatments are brutal, and Amber is not responding well. She has had to miss several treatments due to issues with her blood work which prolongs the treatment time.

Amber is undergoing 24 weeks of chemotherapy at Bluewater Health. Following that, she will undergo breast and ovarian surgeries, then will have six months of immunotherapy treatments.

With the permission of Amber and Michael, I am setting up this fundraiser to help with the costs associated with additional care for the boys and to alleviate some of the financial stressors associated with Ambers long term work absence. Unfortunately, Amber does not have access to long term disability benefits through work and the government disability payments are less than $1,000 a month. Your donation will help Amber to focus on her treatments, surgeries and recovery, while ensuring that the boys are taken care of.

The goal for this fundraiser is $25,000. The funds will be used primarily for care for the boys. Full time care for the youngest, Max, is $800 a month. After school care for Bennett and Blake is $500 a month. Care for all 3 boys over the summer will be over $600 a week for 9 weeks. Plus, additional costs for travelling to and from many appointments in London.
