Nevaeh was born with end stage renal failure from twin to twin transfusion, yes, and has identical twin! She started dialysis while in the NICU at Tulane. The family did dialysis for two and a half years at home every night until her father, Jeremy Jones, could donate one of his kidneys. Her first kidney transplant was May 2, 2007.
Nevaeh and her family are ratrod car enthusiasts and have even been the organizers of car shows raising funds to benefit kidney transplant recipients and donors.
In a surprising turn of events in 2018, Nevaeh's mother and father, April and Jeremy Jones, met Amber Burris, at a car show in Missouri. This began a powerful friendship that would lead to the gift of new life for Nevaeh.
Amber heard Nevaeh's story and volunteered to become a living donor if she was a match for Nevaeh. She was and is travelling from Missouri to share one of her kidneys with Nevaeh!
God has provided the miracle this family needed. Now, you can be a part of Nevaeh's miracle by helping us help them.
June 10th is the date set for the kidney transplant. Friends and family cannot be there, in person, to support the Jones or Burris families because of COVID 19 restrictions.
I ask you to keep Nevaeh and Amber in your prayers but also the caregivers, medical team, friends and especially family members.
There are so many expenses that arise when you are in the hospital and this is where you can help. We would like to get the funds to help them as they live the next few weeks away from home and as they recover when they return home.
In this uncertain time of the pandemic, these families will be dealing with suppressed immune systems and the fear of illness befalling them while they are in a weakened condition.
Thank you for anything you can donate to help as these families move through this difficult time. Please be in prayer for them first and foremost.
