Amber and Zack Woods

Amber and Zack Woods of Springfield, MO were met with currently unexplainable, scary news on April 17th. Over the course of just three days, Amber lost her ability to see.

The problem started on the 14th when she realized she was struggling to see a little bit more than usual. A long time wear of glasses, she thought maybe she needed to update her prescription. But just two days later she was unable to read a spreadsheet at work. A specialist confirmed the next day that she was legally blind and unable to work or drive.

The specialist, nor the doctor who referred her to the specialist, will fill out the required paperwork her job needs to keep her employed while she seeks answers and treatment. Whether her job keeps her on or not until she is healed, they are officially down to a one-income household and are self-paying with no insurance. In just a handful of appointments, they've already accrued and paid over $1200 in medical bills in the attempt to find out what has happened. So far, the only things they know for sure are that she has blood pooling behind her eyes and lots of inflammation. She will be having weekly appointments until there is a diagnosis and/or they begin treatment.

Amber and Zack have worked hard for everything they have and have given when they didn't have it to give. They are scared of the unknown and, now, of whether or not they can afford to find out what is happening. Humbly and gratefully, I ask that you help them while they navigate this.
