Amber and Greg's IVF Journey

So, as some of you may know, my sister Amber and her husband Greg have had a hard time adding to their family. They tried for 17 months before they reached out to the fertility doctors. After 3 months of working with them and getting tests done, they found that there wasn't anything really wrong with either of them and there was no explanation as to why they couldn't conceive.  They did an IUI (intrauterine insemination) with the addition of Clomid at the fertility clinic, and it worked the first time. They were in shock and so happy. Amber found out she was pregnant with twins but as the pregnancy went on,  she lost one of them. Everything was going well and Amber ended up having Jade, their sweet little angel, 4 months premature.  Jade sadly passed away at just 6 days old.  They were advised to wait a year before they could start trying again and were told Clomid was to risky for Amber to try again due to having a placental abruption with the first birth.  They waited a full year. The loss of Jade was painful, and waiting to try again was hard for both of them. They started trying as soon as the doctors felt it was safe for her and still no success.  They have gone through another year, more testing and 3 more IUI's. The fertility treatments have been expensive and have not been covered by insurance. Their next step is now IVF (in vitro fertilization). This is unfortunately a lot of money upfront and they have saved some but do not have the whole amount readily available right now. I know they would like to get this done as soon as possible. This is a hard and exciting situation for them in hopes of being able to have a baby of their own.
