Amazing drummer needs new kit
Donation protected
My boyfriend, Kyle, is blind and suffers from constant severe migraines that prevent him from working a normal job. In spite of all this, he is an absolutely fantastic drummer. The attached video is proof of that. He found a drumless track on youtube and added his own drums, so the drums you hear are all him. He has also been in bands in the past and would like to be again once his medical issues are under control. He does, however, play on our worship team at church.
Some have asked how someone with migraines can play drums. While he has to limit how much he plays at a time, his migraines are not usually affected by noise. They are, however, affected by intense focus which is why getting a job isn't an option right now. Drumming is so second nature to him that it's not nearly as much of a problem. He would like to be able to get drumming contracts in order to be financially independent.
The problem is that his current drum kit is literally falling apart. It's playable, but he's not sure how long it will be. He needs a kit to practice and record on, and if he is able to tour in the near future, something that can stand up to the rigors of constant movement.
We are both on disability, which is why we are reaching out for help. He has a kit in mind that is accessible, and has excellent sound and is easy on the body when played. The problem is it cost about $3,000. If anyone can either help or at least pass this site on to others, it would be greatly appreciated.
