Howdy! My name is Amaya (she/they) and I am following my calling to become a death doula! "A death doula? What's that?" Simply put, it is someone who helps a dying person and their loved ones emotionally, practically, and spiritually as they prepare leave the earthly plain. Mortality is something we all must recon with, but we needn't do it alone. I want to help facilitate this vulnerable and humbling time in people's lives.

My retreat is March 4th-8th of 2026. It is hosted by Going With Grace, an organization started by Alua Arthur. I watched her Ted Talk years ago on being a death doula and now I am coming full circle to train with the person who planted the seed to begin with!
