Amaya Rayne, Warrior Princess from the start. AJ and Kenny found out they were expecting and were over the moon. They immediately knew they had a fighter on their hands. Little did they know just how much of a fighter their little girl really is. After getting a handle on the few complications they went in for a routine ultrasound at around 30 weeks. There they saw something a touch concerning and decided to get a 4D ultrasound done. This 4D ultrasound confirmed that miss Amaya's heart was measuring very large. After fighting and fighting AJ got herself transfered to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. At 32 weeks, Amaya was diagnosed with an enlarged right atrium, Tricuspit Dysplasia, and Pulmonary Stinosis with the possibility of Ebstine's Anomaly. From there they were met with doctors and teams weekly to get toghter a plan for Amaya's birth and treatment. Just 3 short weeks and 2 days later, AJ went into labor. After laboring for over 24 hours AJ was taken in for a c-section. Miss Amaya was here! Her original estimated NICU time was 2 weeks to a month. Well, that is no longer the case. She has now had an open heart surgery, a procedure to re-open her chest after the initial closure, a second closure of her chest, countless tests, been placed on the ventilator, had a few feeding tubes placed, been on countless medications, officially being diagnosed with Ebstine's Anomaly, and so so much more at just 5 weeks old. With everything going on with Amaya, it is looking like the stay in the PCICU is going to last upwards of 7 months. Kenny and AJ are doing everything they can to be there and help Amaya in this journey of battling CHD and everything that comes with it. Kenny has not been to go back to work and is trying to prepare to leave on an upcoming Military deployment. As anyone can imagine, this is extraordinarily hard on all three of them. We thank you for helping in any way you can, even if that is just sharing this.
