On November 5th my biggest fear came true... when Amaurie was playing, he climbed on a glass coffee table and got severely injured. We were airlifted to John's Hopkins Hospital where the amazing surgeons worked on him for 10 hours saved my baby's life! Amaurie is out of the woods and has been the strongest 3 year old ever, but has a long road to recovery. He has been transferred to an inpatient facility in DC where he will remain for about a month doing physical therapy 6 days a week to help him stand and walk again. We are hoping to have him home before Christmas and then continue with outpatient therapy. I have been fortunate to take time off from work to stay by Amaurie's side but it has taken a toll on our little family with unforseen hospital bills to come along with other expenses.
